1. it's hot - very hot. Britain's weather doesn't seem to do middle ground nowadays. 2 weeks ago still cold and rain, warm -really warm- and sunny for the last 4 days...

2. i have a new car!! whoopee. Citroen Xsara Forte 1.6i... ;-) and yellow. A colleague suggested that i called it "lemon" - Citroen/citrus/lemon, yellow/lemon.... yeesss -
it isn't actually a new car; it s 12 years old. but compared to my old 22 years old banger, what a luxury! for a start everything works! and it's smooth to drive! and it has assisted steering, abs, electric window.. a luxury i say! well chuffed I am. especially since i paid less than £1k for it. let's hope all will be fine ;-)
3. just voted (online - good point that) at the AGM of my group pension company; was going through the reports docs, and came across the salaries directors allocate themselves and that we are to approve. (see here: annual accounts 2011 page 74-75 ) Well i don't know what happened to this idea that directors salaries/bonuses were going to be capped, and that they would also become more decent etc etc because apparently the message hasn't reached my pension company!
Top guy: £ 775 000 + 175% salary + 200% salary + more !!!
Who on earth is worth that much money?? what is he ever going to do with that much money?!?
How ridiculous is that.
Doesn't that guy travel, read the news?... isn't he aware of the European economic situation, or the daily struggle of people in Greece, Afghanistan and the like?
half of the base salary would be more than enough to live comfortably anywhere...
how indecent is that. Greed and arrogance...
needless to say, I didn't vote for. neither did I for the re-election of directors who think they can get away with this.
